Gamerholix through to the next round of the BBC @North Project

The BBC has chosen Gamerholix to go forward in their @North Project. Gamerholix is one of only eight regional companies to be selected and is now working vigorously towards the next stage.

@North is a pilot project led by BBC Children's and will involve multi-disciplinary teams from many other areas of the BBC such as Future, Media and Technology (FM&T) in new collaborative ways of working.

The eight Yorkshire companies to go through are: Desq, Gamerholix, Numiko, Swamp, Team Cooper, Tuna, Turmeric and The Workshop.

Two more 'Clever Kids' games in production

Gamerholix and Midas Interactive Entertainment have today announced that two new Clever Kids games are in production; Clever Kids: Maths and Clever Kids: Spelling.

In development on DS, Wii and PC these two Clever Kids games are curriculum led and differentiate for the learning needs of children aged 5 to 12.

Doo Wop for iPhone launches

Gamerholix and Organiq Music are proud to announce the launch of Doo Wop for iPhone and iPod Touch. Doo Wop allows you to create your own ‘Doo Wop' band with cool vocals and groovy backing tracks by touching the cute characters as they dance to the beat.

Scratch the surface of ‘Doo Wop' and you'll find a game that is inspired by the music of the backstreets, with a gang of colourful trashy characters who hang on street corners and in alleyways singing harmoniously in a ‘Doo Wop' style.

Gamerholix at The Bookseller Digital Conference

Gamerholix were one of a select group of games developers invited by Tiga to attend the Digital Book Seller Conference in London.

Gamerholix were on hand to form relationships with and advise book publishers interested in bringing their content to the digital market.

This year the annual conference focused on the emerging market for e-books as book publishers attempt to adapt to new technology and the changing business landscape.

Doo Wop previews at Eurogamer Expo 2009

The wraps were taken off Gamerholix's new iPhone game 'Doo Wop' at the Eurogamer Expo 2009 in Leeds. I giant iPhone featuring the game wowed spectators when it appeared on the Screen Yorkshire stand.

The Eurogamer Expo is the UK's biggest dedicated video games event and is all about putting the best games in the hands of gamers.

Clever Kids Creepy Crawlies released

Gamerholix at Sagset 2009

Gamerholix's MD Elliot Gay was the opening keynote speaker at this years Sagset conference. The 39th annual conference was this year hosted by Leeds Metropolitan University.

Elliot spoke in depth about the wealth of experience Gamerholix has developing children's educational games for DS and Wii.

Formed in 1970, SAGSET is a voluntary professional society dedicated to improving the effectiveness and quality of learning through the use of interactive learning, role-play, simulation and gaming - in all aspects of education and training, from Primary School to University - and in all levels of adult, lifelong learning from the shop floor to the board room.
